Four hundred years of the market, as a maze the chain clears
Twelve moments, from the first share sold in Amsterdam to stock tokens that trade all night on Robinhood Chain, laid along one route through a 31 × 31 maze. You walk it in first person. Every step is one byte, and a contract with no owner replays the whole run before it prints your time. The shortest route is 256 moves. The tape has room for more.
The run
Walk from the Amsterdam courtyard to the exit. The stations light up in order and each one changes the walls around you.
Enter the floor
Twelve stations wait along one route, from 1602 to 2026. Walls, dead ends and a few centuries of bad decisions are free. The contract only counts your steps.
Stations
Twelve cells on the one route. You clear them in this order or not at all. Each era paints its own walls.
Hall
The last fifty runs, the record and the finish count come straight from the contract. Your own runs are kept in this browser until you submit them.
How the floor judges
The maze and the rules live in one contract. The page is only a way to walk it.
Walk
Every time you cross into a new cell, the page writes one byte: 0 up, 1 right, 2 down, 3 left. Turning and looking around cost nothing. Dead ends cost exactly as many bytes as you spend in them.
Ask
verify(moves) is a free read. It starts at cell (1,1), replays the bytes one by one and stops at the first bad step. It tells you how far you got, how many stations you cleared and why it stopped.
Submit
submit(moves) runs the same walk and writes the result if it is clean. It keeps your personal best, the record and its holder, and the finish count. A 256-move run costs about 365,000 gas.
